Brief introduction
The fuel injection pump is an important component of the automobile diesel engine. The fuel injection pump assembly is usually composed of a fuel injection pump, a speed regulator and other components installed together to form a whole. Among them, the speed regulator is a component that ensures the low-speed operation of the diesel engine and limits the maximum speed, ensuring that the injection amount and the speed maintain a certain relationship. The fuel injection pump is the most important component of the diesel engine and is regarded as the "heart" component of the diesel engine. Once it has a problem, the entire diesel engine will malfunction.
The fuel injection pump can be mainly divided into three types: plunger injection pump, fuel injection pump-injector and rotor distribution fuel injection pump. Among them, the plunger injection pump is the oldest and most widely used, with high reliability; the fuel injection pump-injector is a combination of the two, which is directly installed on the engine cylinder head, which can eliminate the adverse effects of the high-pressure oil pipe (requires an additional drive mechanism on the engine); the rotor distribution fuel injection pump has only a pair of plungers, which mainly relies on the rotation of the rotor to achieve fuel pressure and distribution, and has the characteristics of small size, light weight, easy use and low cost.
Working principle
*Oil suction process:
the plunger moves downward under the drive of the camshaft and the action of the plunger spring, the oil chamber volume increases, the pressure decreases, and when the radial oil inlet hole on the plunger sleeve is exposed, the fuel in the low-pressure oil chamber flows into the pump chamber.
*Oil pumping process:
The cam protrusion lifts the plunger, the volume of the pump chamber decreases, and the pressure increases. When the pressure overcomes the preload of the oil outlet valve spring, the oil outlet valve moves up, and the high-pressure diesel is pumped into the high-pressure oil pipe and sprayed into the cylinder through the injector.
*Oil return process:
The plunger continues to move up. When the inclined groove on the plunger is connected to the radial oil hole on the plunger sleeve, the fuel in the pump chamber flows back to the low-pressure oil chamber, and the oil pumping stops.
Main types
*Plunger injection pump:
It has a long history, is widely used, and has high reliability. Each group of plunger systems in the in-line injection pump corresponds to one cylinder and is mostly used in medium-sized and larger vehicles.
* Rotor distribution injection pump:
It has only one pair of plungers and relies on the rotation of the rotor to achieve fuel pressurization and distribution. It has the characteristics of small size, light weight, easy use and low cost. It is commonly used in cars and light vehicle diesel engines.
*Fuel injection pump - fuel injector:
The fuel injection pump and fuel injector are integrated into one and installed directly on the engine cylinder head. This can eliminate the adverse effects of the high-pressure oil pipe, but requires an additional drive mechanism on the engine.
