The working principle of the injection pump is basically similar. Take the common plunger injection pump as an example:

Oil suction process: The plunger is driven by the cam of the camshaft. When the raised part of the cam leaves the plunger, the plunger moves down under the action of the plunger spring, the oil chamber volume increases, and the pressure decreases. When the radial oil inlet hole on the plunger sleeve is exposed, the fuel in the low-pressure oil chamber flows into the pump chamber along the oil inlet hole.

Pumping process: When the cam's raised part lifts the plunger, the volume in the pump chamber decreases, the pressure increases, and the fuel flows back to the low-pressure oil chamber along the radial oil holes on the plunger sleeve. When the plunger moves up to completely block the radial oil holes on the plunger sleeve, the pressure on the pump chamber increases rapidly. When this pressure overcomes the preload of the outlet valve spring, the outlet valve moves up. When the pressure relief ring on the outlet valve leaves the valve seat, the high-pressure diesel is pumped into the high-pressure oil pipe and sprayed into the cylinder through the injector.

Oil return process: As the plunger continues to move up, when the inclined groove on the plunger is connected to the radial oil hole on the plunger sleeve, the fuel in the pump chamber flows back to the low-pressure oil chamber through the axial oil channel, inclined oil channel and oil hole on the plunger sleeve, and the pumping stops.

Use high-quality fuel: Be sure to use clean light diesel that meets national standards to ensure the purity and performance of the fuel and prevent impurities from entering the injection pump and affecting its normal operation.

Keep the fuel system clean: Clean the diesel tank and filter regularly to prevent impurities, dust, etc. from entering the fuel system, which will wear out the precision parts of the fuel injection pump.
